University of Wollongong (UOW) surges in World’s Top 100 Modern Universities

UOW has surged 10 spots to be ranked number 33 in the annual Times Higher Education (THE) 100 Under 50 ranking of the world’s best modern universities.

The THE 100 Under 50 lists the world’s best 100 universities under the age of 50. (UOW became an independent university in 1975.) UOW was ranked 43rd in the same rankings in 2013. Of the 14 Australian universities that were listed in the Top 100, UOW came in third.

UOW’s Sydney Business School Partial Tuition Scholarships Update

Each Trimester intake UOW’s Sydney Business School (SBS) grants 5 partial tuition scholarships to international students. The scholarships are valued at 25% of tuition fees and are tenable for enrolment in SBS courses on either the Wollongong or Sydney campus.

Applications are now open for Trimester 3 and will close on 14 June. Find out about the new application requirements and eligible courses on the SBS scholarships website.

Applications are still open for undergraduate scholarships valued at up to 50%

Do you have high school graduates with excellent grades looking to study an Australian bachelor degree on a partial scholarship? Applications are still open for our scholarships for international undergraduate students. These partial scholarships, valued at 25% or 50% of the tuition fee, are tenable for the full 3 or 4 years of a bachelor degree. Students transferring from an approved Credit Transfer pathway are also eligible.

UOW Grads go further – New UOW Graduate Bursary

The new UOW Graduate Bursary will offer all UOW Bachelor degree graduates a 10% tuition fee reduction on a 2014 postgraduate coursework program at UOW Australia. Even students studying UOW degrees offshore will be eligible for the Bursary provided they take their postgraduate coursework degree in Australia.

There is no minimum GPA requirement and the bursary is available for any postgraduate coursework degree.

UOW Business Partners

A reminder that in addition to UOW College, UOW has nominated three ‘business partners’ with DIBP under our status as an approved institution for SVP. These additional partners are based in Sydney, and will be of particular interest to students seeking an English course prior to enrolling in a degree at the UOW Sydney campus. The providers are:
  • ELS Universal English College;
  • Australian International College of English (AIEC);
  • Navitas English
