A great news for all SIBT and Macquarie City Campus students. 

As they will be able to use a special concession Opal card from February. In Australian newspaper, The Daily Telegraph, Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian has announced that five major tertiary institutions have signed up to the scheme. Students at Macquarie University, will be able to travel one way on a bus or tram for as little as $1.05. On trains the lowest fare is $1.69.

“More than 250,000 students are eligible to apply for concession Opal cards which offer a 50 per cent discount on already cheaper Opal fares, making Opal cheaper than the concession paper tickets students use,” Ms Berejiklian said.
